OnGen Energy helping companies save energy costs

Inspiration

Edinburgh-based company, OnGen Energy, launches an online renewable energy feasibility tool, OnGen Expert, to help businesses reduce carbon and energy costs and generate new revenue streams.

OnGen Expert, a cost effective and user friendly platform, features an interface that captures location and energy consumption data to deliver a robust financial and technical appraisal in a few easy steps.

Once the optimum system has been determined, OnGen works with a range of MCS accredited installers to manage a site survey through the process and can also arrange funding for the project.

Clients currently signed up include French multi-national Engie and various public sector organisations that are focused on meeting ambitious net zero greenhouse gas emission targets, including Edinburgh University, Highland Council and a number of UK Government departments.

Chris Trigg, founder of Ongen Energy, said: “There has never been a more important time for all energy users to consider how they can generate electricity and heat locally.

“It makes sense for the environment and financially. Being an online service means our clients can keep working with us during this COVID-19 crisis and be ready to act on climate change when it ends.”

The company was founded in 2014 by chartered accountant Chris Trigg, who has worked in the energy industry for over 15 years, with the aim of helping businesses to explore onsite renewable energy generation, including solar PV, battery storage systems, biomass, CHP, and ground source heat.
