Reintroducing staff into the workplace
Tools & Resources
Key Learnings
- Although the 'work from home' legal restrictions ended in summer 2021, businesses are responsible for the safety of their employees and should consider retaining one-way systems, mask wearing in public spaces and NHS COVID passes.
- Creating a written or watchable guide on returning to the office or work place will help keep you staff up-to-date and ease concerns they may have.
- Employees shouldn't rush to get all staff back to the office or workplace at once.
- Plans and procedures if someone tests positive for COVID should still be in place and clearly communicated.
For many businesses, COVID-19 and the resulting lockdowns have had a lasting effect on employers and employees. Many staff have been furloughed or forced to work from home for long periods. When restrictions ended in summer 2021, many businesses began managing the return to work - but it's important that any reintroduction of staff process is not rushed and delivered as safely as possible.
